         My favorite book is Chasing Vermeer.  This book is about two kids who are trying to solve a crime.  Somebody stole a famous painting by Vermeer.  The whole book is like a puzzle about trying to find out who stole the painting.  The name of the author is Blue Balliett.  I like it because the genre is mystery.

I also like Hatchet.  I have read this book twice, once in 4th grade in America and this year in 6th grade class.  This book is about a kid named Brian.  In the story his plane crashes, his pilot dies in the crash, and Brian becomes stranded in the Canadian wilderness.  All he has the hatchet his mom gave him, a wind breaker, and himself.  The story is about his survival.
